Re: Panning
Yeah, once @JMK mentioned it seemed to be all apps were mono I figured it had to be a system setting somewhere. Who knew ?
Glad it worked!

Re: Panning
Just a shot in the dark - but in iOS Settings/General/Accessibility, under Hearing there is a switch for Mono. Is that on?

Re: Syncing up software click & audio click
I think if I'm following your process- and this is a shot in the dark.... You mentioned opening a new project when you imported the files. I'm guessing you did not set the project tempo to 165 BEFORE you imported the waves? THats all I can think of that would have the 165bpm waves out of sync with t...

Re: Syncing up software click & audio click
Hi Dave! Welcome to The club!
You didn't mention what interface/how you were getting sound into the iPad from the Yamaha.
Did you send clock from Auria to the Yamaha? Note that Auria can only serve as a master clock, and does not receive it, so the Yamaha would need to be set to slave.

Re: Panning
Yes, create an empty project, manually add a track and the mono option will appear. Select the input you want and you should be in business. (BTW, when you create a project with default audio tracks, they are all stereo). Otherwise the steps you followed sound correct. In regards to what sounds like...

Re: Recording drum app samples as separate tracks?
In AB, Drumjam only has separate outs for Loops and Pads. However, if using loops, DJ does have a mute/solo tab; it would take a bit of work but each DJ instrument could be manually soloed and recorded in Auria one at a time. If using pads, you would have to record each pad on a separate pass. FYI, ...

Re: Is this bad practice?
In the digital world, red is bad! Always keep the dock's input "below" red. I don't have Bias, but in general if it hits the red there, you will be sending a clipped signal to Auria. Ere on the side of too low, you can always process the track in Auria to bring the level up. Also, if need ...

Re: Auria & Funkbox Midi Problem
It sounds to me like Funkbox is "running" - perhaps it's receiving a start command from Auria - and Funkbox is playing both Auria midi and its own sequencer? That could be the double notes you are hearing. Is there a way to set Funkbox to not start and only receive notes? Do you see the re...

Re: Typical way to record vocals
Yes most definitely. With digital recording you have a lot of headroom, so record your vocals so that the loudest parts hit around minus 18 on the meter and then compress at mix time. +1 here - get the clean recording first, and that leaves you the most options later. A couple of additional thought...

Re: Master metering questions
Supanorton I don't mean to presume your experience level, so I apologize if this is old hat to you. I think mastering is best thought of as optimizing a mix for it's intended delivery medium. In the pro world, mastering has traditionally been done by an engineer that specializes in it, and not by th...

Re: Importing audio files?
Hi Tony Anthony is correct, and this will be the case for any of the iOS DAWs. I use a crude estimation of 10M a minute for a stereo file (mono is 1/2 that). So a 4 minute song with 20 tracks gets pretty big! He is also correct about the duplicate files, and needing to manage them. But be really care...
