ROUTING MIDI AUDIO

Post by Elektromechanik » Fri Mar 30, 2018 3:23 pm

Say I have Animoog on a MIDI channel and I want to route the audio to an empty audio track. So I send it out Buss 1 but when I go to the wanted destination audio track, only MIC and MSTR are able to be chosen. Also, I’m have trouble routing audio from iMPC Pro 2 as well. Do I need to send it a clock signal from Auria? I can do it but it’s a “rig” where it should be a simple process.

What am I doing wrong?

You will need a Midi and Audio track to do this.
First DON’T insert Animoog into the midi track, instead insert Animoog into the Audio track.
Now in the midi track tap FX and select instrument to OFF , Midi input to ALL, midi channel to ALL and here’s the trick, set midi Output to COREMIDI Animoog (virtual). Not Animoog Trk# as this will be on the list too.
Make sure the audio track or midi track is set to record ready ( red track light flashing ). You will still see MIC as the input but pay no attention to that as you won’t be recording from the internal mic, ( you can test this by simply trying to speak into the iPad mic, you will see there will be no signal from the internal mic as the audio is only coming from Animoog)
Now any midi that is played from the midi track will send it’s midi data to Animoog. If you want to play animoog from within AuriaPro just use the AuriaPro’s internal midi keyboard or an external midi controller. So you can do this live and record both the midi and the audio at the same time. Or you can just record the midi first and then send it to the audio track where Animoog is pluged in. Just depends on which track is set to record, midi, audio or both.

Hope that makes sense. Cheers and good luck.

Tried and technique records the midi data but no playback even though notes are there.

Only plays a few notes. Shouldn’t be this hard to do a simple task.

Makes no sense. I erase the recorded audio and either 5 notes play or nothing.

It was also recording midi from the iMPC Pro 2 so I went into it’s midi setting and turned midi output to off and now this “trick” seems to be working as it should.

IMPC Pro 2 must have been sending out some weirdness on all channels.

All is well for now.

Glad you got it working. Yes AuriaPro now records all the midi notes of a drum machine if that app is set to send it’s midi out and AuriaPro is set to receive notes from that app in the midi settings. So turn off the receive notes in AuriaPros midi under SETTINGS for any app you don’t want to have AuriaPro listen to. So in your setup send notes to iMPC and don’t receive from iMPC. Cheers.
