iOS 6.1.3 issue with USB interfaces

Post by Rim » Thu Mar 28, 2013 9:22 am

We've identified an issue when using iOS 6.1.3 and USB audio interfaces:

This apparently only applies to apps which use the new multiRoute audio category that iOS 6 introduced (Auria uses this category). If you plug in a USB audio interface, then plug headphones into the iPad's headphone jack afterwards, the iPad could crash. We've contacted Apple about this, so they are aware of the issue. To avoid this problem, just make sure you always plug your headphones in to the iPad BEFORE you connect a USB audio device. When doing it like this, we haven't seen an issue. Unplugging in any order doesn't seem to have an impact.

Hopefully we'll see a fix for this in the next iOS update.

Yes, this bug does not cause any damage to the iPad or to your Auria project. It's a bug in the coreAudio system that's built into iOS.
