So I was wondering what the people here on the forum intend to use the sampler for? As a drum machine, pitched instruments or sound design etc.
Just wanted to see what you guys had planned.
I have some nice sample libraries on my laptop for large percussion "Taiko" and other cinematic type drums which really don't need to be as multi-layered as other instruments. I'll try to convert those for use in Auria's sampler.
What are you gonna use the sampler for?
What are you gonna use the sampler for?

Re: What are you gonna use the sampler for?
I'm in the writing mood!
I can't say what I'll be using it for at the moment, but I would like if it were as good as a "combination" of Beatmaker 2's Keyboard and Drum machine (minimum). Then with WML's spices added.
The sample length will determine what it will be caperble doing. If has even 20 seconds it will be awesome. If its unlimited, well that's another thing.
I'm sure it will be used for every instrument/sound possible.
Put it this way, when I first got BM2, I bought some Roland JV 1080 disks off the net. I have the original hardware (although it's in another country at the moment). The disks came as soundfonts, which I had to convert to Wav (at the time).
I chose the best sounds, some Bass, Horns, Strings etc etc..
Then I installed them into the keyboard, as much as 10 different zones. And have been using them for years,(with other sounds/apps) they sound great. A little big in size for some but great. (This is all before I had my iPad).
I probably wouldn't do the same again, (the convert part) no need to. But just showing there are so many possibilities.
You can have "Any!" sound.
If I had too choose between a Sampler and a Synth, it would have to be a Sampler. You can sample a synth.
Drum loops, Basses, Strings, Vocals, sample loop, Brass, FX, (Synths), Pads, Guitars, Piano's the list is endless.
Looking forward to Pro's take on it..

Re: What are you gonna use the sampler for?
I'm up for anything. The drums/percussion are a big one for me. I'll be interested to see what comes stock, and what I can get more of. Drum sets, well, how many drumsets do you need? I want lots of percussion. I love Drumjam, but it's not so easy for me to get multiple percussion instruments going into different tracks at the same time from DJ. Thumbjam does that, but the selection of percussion is slim.
We'll see what other samples I like. To be honest, Thumbjam is pretty amazing, especially for the price, so we'll see what I want. With the synths in Auria Pro, and the wonderful sound mangling filters I've purchased, I think I'm pretty solid. But who knows.
