Output matrix

Post by Jaycrocker » Tue Jan 28, 2014 10:44 am

Hey there, I have been running auria withe an rme ucx with great success. I tried to do some tape laybacks today which I have done many times, I tried to select which subgroup I wanted to route to outputs of the ucx and it would only let me select output 1 and 2. Any ideas why the software is not recognizing the outputs of the interface anymore

This can happen for a number of reasons:

1. Make sure you're using iOS6 or greater
2. Make sure your Coreaudio mode (in Auria's settings) is set to either Standard or Multiroute
3. Make sure your interface is plugged in and you see the USB indicator on Auria's screen.

Check, all of this is as it should be, when the interface is connected it allows me to select between to appropriate inputs but still only allows me to select between outputs 1 and 2

Is your UCX in CC mode?

Not sure what to suggest. Maybe contact RME to see if there's a firmware update that addresses this. I remember an issue similar to this in an old version of iOS6, but that's long been solved and we haven't seen this with our interface.

Not sure what is happening here, I have lost outputs 3 thru 8. The rme ucx is completely up to date whit firmware, auria is up to date, running ipad 4 128 gig, ios7........any other suggestion, I will try to talk to rme tomorrow. Everything else is functioning as it should.

And you're sure that Auria is set to MultiRoute mode in the settings?

I have tried both standard and multiroute, in the past it has always worked under the standard setting

Yes, it should work under either setting.

Not sure how to proceed, when I use the app totalmix fx that runs the rme ucx it says that all software playback (auria) outputs are routed to channels 1 - 8 --- although I still can't select them in the output matrix, but it is recognizing the rme ucx in the input matrix, and in the midi setup. I have used the output matrix to route audio from sub groups and aux sends many times before and now nothing,,,very frustrating.

I honestly have no idea what to suggest. It works fine here with my UCX. Maybe reload Auria, or contact RME to see if it's a firmware issue.

The only thing I can think of is that it must be some setting in TotalMix, or a firmware issue in the UCX, since it's worked for you in the past and no one else is reporting this issue. Have you tried resetting the settings, etc? Maybe RME can help.

I remember a user having an issue with his PC DAW (SAWStudio) and his RME interface: It turned out to be his TotalMix configuration.

The solution was to make sure that he was using TotalMix' first (default) configuration, where, I believe, there was a one-to-one relationship between the inputs and outputs. The user's issue was resolved.

Not sure whether the above might apply to your situation, J...but I thought I'd throw it out there, just in case.... :)

So it turns out that I can only access the group outputs of auria when multiroute is selected, also, there is a bug with the 64 bit mixer, when the 64 bit mixer is selected it reacts weird with the output matrix, it seems to give you the opiton to select which group you want to route to the interface but they come out linked. Meaning, sub 1 can be heard on the outputs of the other subs, when I switch off the 64 bit, everything functions as it should
