Re: AAF import question
Hi, Just bought Auria. I copied a AAF file to the iPad (Air 2) but when I try to import it I get an empty editing window. Nothing gets imported. I read somewhere that the AAF file must not include embedded media. Is that true? My file *does* include media and I can't ask for another export during t...

Re: Sound design/ post production in auria?
A utility for desktop/laptop to conform video that has worked well for me is MPEG Streamclip: http://www.squared5.com/
There are presets for iOS export built into the application.

phil.

Re: Sound design/ post production in auria?
I ask folks to send me an iPod formatted video - haven't had problems with those playing inside Auria. Not sure about bringing the video into the other apps.

Re: Sound design/ post production in auria?
I use Auria to complete shows that air on television & web. Editor exports out an ipad formatted video and an AAF; I clean up the dialog, add music/sfx and send back a mix. Different than what it sounds like you are doing but I would think many of the concepts regarding the video IAP are similar...

Re: Sound design/ post production in auria?
Not quite your proposed setup, but I use the video IAP for audio-for-video editing. Works well for my purposes.

Re: Saving aaf files
I haven't found a great way for backing up projects using only the ipad, and have taken to using iExplorer or iFunbox to grab the project file from the Auria folder and collecting them on a USB drive. As each drive fills up I'll zip it and back them up to a NAS. I tried several times early on to exp...

Re: The "Auria Wishlist Thread"
Rim and company... is there anything on the update list to allow for using an external keyboard for transport and perhaps macro edit commands?

Re: Video and audio playback
I kindly ask for any wisdom for 3 questions about video/audio playback: 1. How does a video track appear in Auria? 2. How does that video get routed to a monitor for full screen playback of just the video synced with the audio? 3. If that is possible, what interface is best to simultaneously handle...

Thanks Rim for the good info. Having an option to select either pre or post would be awesome...appreciate all you do for us!

Re: Hardware output - Subgroup post-fader
Rim, any follow up on my note below? Hooking an Apogee Duet or Quartet to Auria and directing the Sub Group outputs to hardware outputs; the on screen Group Faders don't seem to have any control over the hardware volumes.
Thanks very much!

Hardware output - Subgroup post-fader
This may have been covered in another thread but I couldn't find it - is it possible to have hardware mulit-output devices see the SubGroup routing/outputs post-fader? So the SubGroup faders on the mix page would control those hardware output levels?
Thanks very much.

Re: Video import problems
I will sometimes get the black screen when starting up Auria, even though I know the video is present. Unloading and reloading the video (not importing the audio again) has taken care of this each time for me.

Re: Auria continual crash
I believe I know what caused the crash. My database that is used to search and transfer sfx/music files was set to transfer the files named by Description and not Filename. This sent over a file with an unusually long name which Auria apparently didn't like very much and hung things up. Did a reinst...

Re: Auria continual crash
**Update - loaded this same project onto an iPad 4, and while the CPU load is higher the free memory shows approx 130MB, which is more typical of this project. Import and other menu functions work as expected thus far. Don't know what this means for my Air, but I may just try and finish up on the 4 ...

Re: Auria continual crash
Thanks Rim - tried both your suggestions and while I could get Auria to load my template project I attempted a short import audio test in this new empty project and the app immediately crashed. Any attempt to load another project also crashes the app, with the iOS 'swipe up' screen shot still showin...
