Re: Some questions for guitar/bass players recording with Au

You have a few options: 1. Record guitar dry, then add audio effects afterwards. This allows you to double track your guitar (dry and wet signal) 2. Use external effects processor (pedals or multi fx unit) and record direct into Auria WITHOUT real time monitoring. This reduces the load on the iPad, ...

Re: Forget IAA…Audiobus2 is coming ;-)

IDK, it seems that the hardware requirements for some of the newer stuff is ramping up too quickly. It is doubtful that anything less than an iPad 4 will be able to productively use Audiobus2, especially if Auria is the DAW of choice. I would even suggest that if you want to use all the tools at you...

Re: overloud thm? why so few users?

Purchasing a plugin that can only be used in one app didn't seem prudent. As it stands today, I can use Jamup and/or Amplitube in multiple apps, via Inter-App Audio (to a great degree) or Audiobus (to a lesser degree). I love Auria, but don't have the resources to buy Auria Only plugins.

Re: Audiobus Frustrations

Since upgrading my iPad 3 to IOS 7 and acquiring apps that are inter app audio compatible, life is good. Of course Auria is my host. I use Sampletank, NLog Synth PRO, Alchemy Mobile PRO, Magellan, and Amplitube. Pretty happy so far.

Re: Steps to prevent auria from crashing?

Everything Rim said, plus this: 1. Try not to keep every app you have ever purchased installed. Reports indicate that the closer the iPad gets to full storage capacity, the more it behaves like a fragmented hard drive. The creators of Alchemy Mobile suggest that you keep as much free storage as poss...

Re: Midi sequencer and virtual instruments

I don't have a compelling argument to convince you to purchase Auria based on its features, but I think workflow proficiency is a tremendous reason to make the purchase now, rather than later. It is doubtful that the addition of a midi sequencer will radically change how Auria deals with audio, so w...

Re: Other good apps for guitar players?

In order of use: Jamup XT Pro (best sounding), Amplitube for iPad (best features) and Ampkit+ (most effects).

Re: What would you keep?

That might be an option down the road, but I went and bought all the Sessionband loops, so I'm all in for the moment. I did delete the jazz 1&2, and the Acoustic to save space. I have whittled down my apps to Auria, Sessionband with all loops, Yamaha Synth Arp and Drum, Magellan, Alchemy Mobile ...

Re: IAA Apps

I scooped up Yamaha Synth Arp and Drum Pad when it was 99 cents. It works flawlessly with Auria. Now if Jamup Pro gets updated so I could use my standalone license to get access to their Auria plugin, I would be all set!

What would you keep?

I have recently discovered Sessonband for iPad, which is an amazing composition tool that I got for a steal (99 cents)! Unfortunately, it is an enormous program (3.2 gigs), so I need to slim down (iPad3 w/16 gigs). If you could only keep 1 synth app, 1 drum app and 1 effects app, what would you keep...

Re: How's the new IOS 7 goin with all your music apps?

May I suggest that everyone preface their comments with the phrase "in my experience". For example, in my experience, upgrading to IOS 7 has been challenging because: 1. I'm not entirely sure of whether a problem is the result of ios itself or apps needing an update. 2. I've discovered tha...

Re: IPad 1, Iodock, Auria?

Obstacles and limitations aside, if all you had was first generation iPad, IO Dock and Auria, would that stop you from composing and arranging? Would you allow your creative vision to fade away because it took a lot of extra time and effort to produce your music? As I understand it, you grow the mos...

Re: RIM!!! PLEASE READ THIS.

As an aside, Retronym's Tabletop is the only IOS app (that I am aware of) that includes Midi Learn. In theory, you could use Tabletop as a wrapper of sorts, which would allow you to map all of the Synthstation 49 functions.
