Re: Auria Pro: Sneak Peek video

Very nice. Can I ask a few short questions? - Will it be possible to draw velocity curves / slopes? (in the best case, only applied to the currently selected notes) - Will I be able to change the length of all seleced notes at once? (either absolutely or relatively) - Will there be absolute / relati...

Re: Major Auria Announcement

Couldn't have explained it better myself  Another very important use, especially in very complex music like Electronica 8), is separating all the controllers (Filter cutoff, preset morphing, whatever) from the notes, for instance. (sorry had to say the "very complex music" thing b...

Re: Major Auria Announcement

This way of working has really been standard in the recording industry for the past decades already -- but yeah, having it in Auria would rock

Re: Major Auria Announcement

BTW, lanes would also elegantly solve the "Seperate takes" problem (in loop recording) as a side-effect -- just create a new lane on all tracks armed for recording on each loop iteration. (Logic does this, at least the last time I used it :))

Re: Major Auria Announcement

Well, lanes wouldn't really put any additional burden on the hardware, as they're only used as an organizational means.

Re: Major Auria Announcement

If there is any chance of reordering the future feature list 8), track lanes should be at or near the top IMO. For more complex arrangements, and with MIDI, especially for keeping individual drums and modulation separate from the notes, they're really a "must" 8)

Re: Help - USB mic levels

I have absolutely no clue about interfacing with USB audio devices in iOS, but maybe the Mic has 24 bit resolution, but Auria interprets that as 16 bit? Just a random thought...

Re: Major Auria Announcement

I was thinking along the same lines... pretty much every catch question in this thread where you could almost hear the giggling behind the post  Rim has calmly answered with "Don't worry!", sipping his "CodeMaster2015" Latte Macchiato

Re: Turn down Master Fader - clipping?

Probably IEEE floating point numbers have a higher precision in certain numerical ranges than in others, so there might be some truth to this, but that's where my knowledge of this stuff really ends. And Rim is probably too busy with more important stuff to bother explaining :)

Re: Turn down Master Fader - clipping?

The numbers that Auria or any other DAW uses internally can be "arbitrarily" high, so essentially clipping doesn't exist. Only the final output has a limited numerical range because well, it goes to a physical device 8) . The Master fader pretty much sets the scale factor for converting th...

Re: Turn down Master Fader - clipping?

I'm not the developer, but with more than 99.9999999% of probability, Auria uses floating point mixing ;-) and yes, turning down the master fader should solve that problem.

Re: Major Auria Announcement

Maybe with a bit of fine-tuning, the dark theme can be slightly optimized still. But let's admit it, most musicians love to work in the dark

Re: Major Auria Announcement

Thanks Rim. If you do, you could indicate the fact that a part is linked to another one (or is the "source" of linked other ones) by including a little chain icon or similar in the part. When opening a part for editing, Auria should ask "This is a linked part. Do you want to make this...

Re: Major Auria Announcement

OK, maybe I should clarify: Most other DAWs (at least Cubase, Logic, and NanoStudio) offer an explicit "destructive" duplicate option, where the duplicates have their data (notes, controllers etc.) linked to the original. Editing the notes or CCs of the original or any of the duplicates wi...
