Re: This is Ridiculously cheap

Cheers, folks. I am always inspired and helped by the responses here. Only problem is it always seems to end with me deciding that it's definitely a good idea to spend some more money on iTunes! Still, to return to the subject of the thread before I kind of hijacked it, at least I'm spending a manag...

Re: This is Ridiculously cheap

Agreed. I LOVE Pro-Q - so visual.

As ever, I'm going to show my absolute ignorance.... I get that a limiter, erm, limits, but why do I need that on top of things like the compression effects? What job do you use the limiter for?

Re: EHX Freeze pedal inside iPad?

I'm not aware of any equivalent. I have some physical pedal effects that I really like and I tend to just bite the bullet and record those 'wet' by DI or recording by micing up an amp. I know we like a dry signal you can mess with, but I do most of my guitars this way and it works well. You can stil...

Sounds ideal - that way the world of Drumagog is open to me. Always wanted to give that a whirl.

Re: Auria compatable drum apps

Wow! Ok, so that's another £10.99 itunes purchase I've got to get past the missus!

Thanks, Anthony, always the source of answers :D

Re: Auria compatable drum apps

Cool!

This may be a stupid question, but how do you record along to a track? Are you using drumperfect through IAA or Audiobus or something? Don't you get latency problems?

Re: Auria compatable drum apps

Do either of these allow you to trigger the sounds with a midi kit?

Re: The "Auria Wishlist Thread"

I would like there to be a midi thing (Technical term, forgive me) which allows you to plug in your electronic drum kit and trigger the samples, with intelligent quantisation and the ability to import kits by in app purchase and maybe through iTunes or Dropbox. Realise that's a major thing, but the ...

Re: It's spring...wondering if Auria Pro will be released so

I think what you really need for a beta test is someone who isn't a dev. Not 100% sure what that is, but I know I'm not one  When I was a kid, a developer was someone you took your Kodak film to... You need someone who can test whether or not it's fool proof. For that, I guess you need a fool....

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Thanks, Richard, very helpful. Now to go back to the mix...! I'm guessing the PSP Echo is the way for me to go. I like the simplicity of plugins. Surely the missus won't notice another iTunes receipt  I guess the trick is to give it a go with the delay / echo, but I wanted to be sure it was wor...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Separate question, if I'm not being too needy  To experiment with recording for my church, rather than just the stuff I've done with my band, I had a go at a recording just done simply, and with me doing all the parts, but there's a section where I can't get the mix right. It's the instrumenta...

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Hi, A question for those experts out there willing to share info... :) I don't understand what delay / echo is for with vocals. I have only ever used reverb on vocals and I'm sure I'm missing out. I use delay loads on my guitar (listened to a lot of Pink Floyd and U2  ) so I get how it works to...

Re: Mastering

I use Audio Mastering by iMusic Album. Helps me greatly to have a separate stage of getting the best possible sound through mixing, then trying to perfect the final effect with MINOR adjustments. Didn't cost much, and I found the presets are a useful starting point for the newbie...

Re: IS ANYONE USING TC HELICON'S VOICE JAM STUDIO?

Just bought the TC Helicon Voicelive Play for gigging. They do make good sounding vocal effects. Not tried it out yet as it only got here today, but I am excited to hear they do an app. Never thought to check as I wouldn't take my iPad to a gig - far too precious to me!

Re: Positve Grid Bias app sale

I checked on this the other day and... No sale in the UK. :(

Checked today and it was on sale for President's Day :D

Odd, really. It's not President's Day in the US, and we have a Queen :?
