Re: Protools or New iPad?

You might check out reaper. Considerably cheaper than ProTools. I'd say just about as powerful but not quite as smooth, workflow wise. Auria is *amazing* but the iPad processor and auria development hours have a lot of catching up to do to offer the power and flexibility of a desktop daw. That said,...

Re: Korg NanoKontrol2

You need to set the NanoKontrol to "Mackie Control" mode. Connect it to your ipad (or hub) while holding "set" & "rec" buttons. I haven't actually tried this but that's what google said to do. ;)

Re: Midi sync with Cubasis

(we're finding all sorts of apps whose MIDI clock sync is not exactly reliable, or who incorrectly calculate SPP),
Would be very handy to know which apps you've found that with and handy to know which apps work the way you expect they should. I've only mistakenly managed to sync Auria with Loopy.

Re: Auria 1.12 Submitted to Apple

I don't blame Sugar Bytes for charging for it, think the price is fair and I'll likely buy it the day it lands but this isn't actually a sandboxing issue. Retronyms and iMini have shown there is a way to get around it - include the code in the app and if the standalone app is on the device, load it ...

Re: mixing from individual tracks to sub-groups to master

Yep, that's it. That said, there's something to be said for a separate mastering stage if you're putting out a collection of tunes (album...). In that second pass you can (or preferably your ME can) look at the collection as a whole and balance the songs across the collection with regard to volume, ...

Re: mixing from individual tracks to sub-groups to master

The subs should already be pointed at master unless you changed it in the output matrix. If you did, just change it back.

And yes re: question two. Go to Menu->Mixdown

Re: iOS synths

@Gmaster, you need two separate apps at this point. One for sequencing, one for sounds. There is no all-in-one with better string/horn sounds than Garageband. For sequencing you really have three options at this point: Genome, BM2 and Cubasis. For sounds, you have really have two (because you need t...

Re: Dear Apple, where is our heavily expected Auria 1.10 upd

@ Rim Hey, did you know that there is a Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas named Auria? That is how it is pronounced, anyway. I haven't noticed if it is spelled the same. Just a bit of extraneous trivia, there. :D In the Playboy interview, Rim admitted it was payola in exchange for his unreasonably hi...

Re: Dropbox

In the mean time, you might be able to open them in Audioshare first and then open them in auria. Not sure if audioshare corrects for the BM2 bug.

You might also check out Guitarism. It had a MIDI out IAP that will allow you to control other iOS instruments through a guitar interface.

Re: AURIA for the iPHONE???

I'd buy it. No plugins, just recording, basic mixing and basic editing (trim, slice, copy and move). And, critically, dropbox sync so I can easily open up a project started on my phone on my iPad. MTD is handy but clip editing blows and no mixer is frustrating.

Re: Newbie Import question

Nanostudio doesn't have audio track import per se but it does have sample import and those samples can come from beatmaker Mixdowns, naturally. A lot of NS users use BM for the chop lab and reimport into NS.
