Re: Pro Q - Analyzer Pre+SideChain
let me just say this: everybody with proper hearing can distinguish different frequencies. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to understand spoken language, distinguish between different voices, etc. I understand the situation with two synths 'overlapping', both filling the entire sound spectrum. But in ...

Re: Pro Q - Analyzer Pre+SideChain
maybe I'm wrong, out-dated. But I find the idea behind it does not really serve the engineer. I'm not saying we shouldn't use analysers, but in the end we should always be able to judge such things by ear. If we rely too much on modern tools like this, we might lose focus and forget the essential to...

Re: 4 Channel output with 2 channel USB interface?
wow, I didn't expect this could work. With a Tascam iU2 (30-pin) it does not, only two output channels are available.
But good to know, I have an M-Audio FastTrack (USB) which I believe should work. Have to get a CCK and try that out some time. Would be nice to get 4 channel output.

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS
it's not a bad idea, but an audio spectrum can only be a rough indication of a mix. Investing in a decent pair of speakers and room treatment is always the best thing you can do. I bought a pair of Dynaudio BM5A mkII a year ago, and this changed everything. All my mixes I've previously done in Cubas...

Re: Off topic - Noise Reduction for iOS?
notch and cut filters can help, also special NR plugins, but as you know, it is sometimes not the best idea to do NR in post. Better do it before the recording stage.

Re: Tracking out 7 channel live show into individual songs-
well the simplest way would be to cut the original recordings and save as snapshots, then mix each one.
Not sure if it's what you want.

Re: Edit Window - Recording without layers
of course. I/every producer do/does this since the first DAW. Undo a not perfect recording, be it audio or MIDI. Don't even think about keeping it, just hit ctrl z or undo and try again.
In earlier days one just rewound the tape to Mem1 position and recorded again, overwriting the previous take.

Re: Latency issues ruin Auria experience
hmm, in that case it really looks like an error in Auria. Strange that I can't reproduce it in my setups.
How much latency do you get without audio interface? Only using the iPad mic input? Or headphone jack microphone input (you'll need a custom cable for that, or the iPhone ear buds)?

Re: My 2 cents.....
none of these issues occurred to me. I'm very curious what might be the reason for your troubles. The only thing that comes to mind is a faulty iPad, but that can't be because I've never heard of such a thing.
You seem to be the only one, or not?

Re: Latency issues ruin Auria experience
"hey there is no latency stop saying bad things about this app, say only good things" hm, that's what I'd say. Although I don't mind people telling bad things about functional software (or hardware). Now, what is the problem? Many people, let's say the majority, can use Auria with real-ti...

Re: Ipad 2/Audiobus
iPad2/iOS6.0.1/Audiobus is not bad. I was able to record several tracks, with different input sources. One has to keep an eye on the Auria RAM meter, sometimes it fluctuates between 10 and 30 MB. No more used apps must be unloaded from Audiobus and iPad memory. It needs a very disciplined workflow, ...

Re: TascamiU2
I'm not sure about this, but I guess it has nothing to do with the iPad model. It depends on the apps one is using, and on the iOS version, how Core Audio is handled. There seems to be a problem with the iPad's Core Audio (iOS 6.0.1) and incorrect sampling rates, which can lead to said problems with...

Re: Fabfilter Timeless2
I don't know because I don't have it and didn't test the VST/AU demo, but if you mean pitch shifting, you can do this with the internal Retune plugin. In very good quality I might add.
