Re: Mobile Recording Project

G'day Reathpd, I started using Auria as a mobile recording device for (I think) much the same purpose as you. I played guitar in an original band for 18 months and whenever the singer/songwriter brought a new composition to practice we would play it through, agree on a basic structure and then we wo...

Re: Focusrite 18i6 problem with ADAT and Auria

G'day Peter Thanks for the response. I don't have the S/PDF option; the Presonus Digimax D8 is a very no-frills unit that connects to the 18i6 via lightpipe and only has 44.1 and 48 kHz options. All that having been said, I did a test run last night and everything went well recording-wise. I had no ...

Re: Mobile Recording Project

And good luck in your endeavor. Thanks Marty. All ups so far - the iPad and Auria worked a treat recording drums last night at the test run before the main event next week. My friend Barney who drummed last night said that he found it very easy to drum along to Auria's click track coming through he...

Re: Mobile Recording Project

I arrived at the Cellar at 3.30 and began to connect my equipment and create a little work area in front of the drum kit. The 18i6 and the DigiMax D8 connected just fine. I ran six mic cables from the XLR jacks at the back of the D8 and proceeded to route those channels in Auria via the input matrix...

Re: Adat Optical In, Crackling Sounds On Audio Interface

firmware 305 Scarlett mix control 1.2.128.0. G'day Joel This thread has solved my own problem with my 18i6 but I have a question: I can find a reference on the Focusrite homepage to Mix Control 1.2.1 which would suggest that it includes an update to firmware 305 as you mention above. But nowhere ca...

Mobile Recording Project

This may be more of a personal indulgence than anything else but I have gained a lot from reading this site and I try to give back as much as I can even though music is a part-time hobby for me and not something I do all the time. I am embarking on what is for me a rather ambitious project to take s...

Re: Tuner

+1 for a tuner; it is always the first plug-in that I add to the effects chain when I am recording bass and guitar in Pro Tools when I am in the studio – it is just so handy to be able to pull it up or have it sitting to the side.

Cheers

Re: Focusrite 18i6 problem with ADAT and Auria

Hi there I don’t have a solution to your problem but I do have a query of my own and I have taken the liberty of posting it here because: • I also use an 18i6; • I also use Auria on my iPad; • I am also using ADAT to increase the recording power of my setup. I have downloaded the latest iPad zero la...

Re: Linking an analog compressor

Thanks

That's a good point of which I hadn't thought. I am going to have to do some research.

Thanks for responding.

Linking an analog compressor

Hello everyone At the moment I am using a focusrite Scarlett 18i6. I plug my guitar or microphone into the preamps at the front and the sound goes straight into Auria. However, what I would like to do is put an analog compressor in between the Scarlett and Auria. So that the signal chain would be: I...

I need help finding a link

Hi everyone I am sure that it was on this site that I found a link to over a thousand drum and percussion hits, loops and samples and I am pretty sure that the link led me to the music radar website. Well I have had to rebuild my hard drive and I have lost all of those samples and I can't find the l...

How to Automate Panning

Hello there, I have recorded some chimes and I would like them to travel from hard right to hard left. Do I do this by: 1. automating the panning; 2. use to tracks panned hard left and hard right and then automate the faders to bring one up whilst bringing the other down; or 3. some other way. Which...

Re: Audio hardware outputs?

Still playing with Auria, Great so far, no problems. One thing I was looking for though was separate hardware outputs, not just mains. I will be using the software mostly for backing tracks playback. I have the 1818VSL and would like to use some outs for monitors, click track etc. I dont know if th...
