Rim: Are you even allowed to do that? I've never read my NDA but who knows ;)

Re: iPad Air.. The software has stopped the work (cpu 100%)

I hate to say it, but any possible "software competitor" to Auria has far inferior plugins that are not remotely comparable in quality (and thus CPU-load) to Auria's.

Re: ETA on MIDI integration?

Just wanted to toss this in: I'm also incredibly curious about MIDI in Auria, and it's pretty obvious that as soon as that is finished, Auria will be the absolute and indisputable IOS DAW reference. Combined with the superb audio effects and editing available, far better than in the C-ompetition ;-)...

Re: Before installing iOS8

"Presets are missing"... sounds suspiciously like someone hardcoded one of the directories like "Documents", I seem to remember reading that in iOS 8, the directory structure has changed and you need to use some API to get to those paths, but I haven't yet checked in my own apps....

Re: Very low volume .wav files from StudioOne

This whole process actually does have an adverse effect on the quality, as dynamics are lost proportional to the amount of gain that needs to be applied in Auria. If the original WAV file is 16 bits, and 8x gain needs to be applied, essentially you're dealing with 13 bits, which would probably repre...

Re: Any update on the update?

Heh. Yes, I've had it jumble around tracks and settings in 1.8, and frankly, this, together with its general slowness and the fact that "Redo" won't "undo" the damage, gives me a very nasty feeling while working with Cubasis and that, among other reasons, is why I'm eagerly waiti...

Re: Any update on the update?

Cubasis' best feature though is its totally amazing Song Randomizer (tm) -- aptly named "Undo" ;-)

But yes, otherwise, the UI and MIDI implementation are very well done. However, as soon as Auria has MIDI, I'm pretty sure I'll switch back.

I think it's right next to the LuisVuiton settings, but I'm not sure. :)

Rim, you should really hire an intern for this stuff, you're about 700% over-qualified for Spam filtering

Re: Ultra-high resolution audio coming soon

As if pure science wasn't enough proof, there has been a heap of double-blind tests, and not in a single one of those was anyone able to tell the difference between 44.1kHz / 16 bits, and ANYTHING higher. This is another attempt to waste resources and pull the money out of peoples' pockets. I'm not ...

Ahhhhh, good old "Dawn 2 Dusk". And don't forget "Film Octaves" :-)

One should probably also mention Garageband (I always forget!), which has very high quality instruments in all categories.

Re: Any good digital synths?

Yep, the total lack of a useful, high quality PCM synth like the JV series on iOS, including sophisticated presets with corresponding FX setups, is a total mystery to me. This is another huge opportunity missed by the "big players". If I had the resources to program such a beast and hundre...

You could try Alchemy and Sampletank. But yes, I'm also still looking for a good... uhm... "real" synth (sample-based) like a Roland JV-1080 etc... hard to find I guess.

Re: Itunes Mastering Tools

I wouldn't take those suggestions all too seriously. I have loads of musical content on iTunes and I'm not really a great mastering engineer. Though the final step in my mastering chain is a TC Finalizer, maybe that helps ;-)

Re: ETA on MIDI integration?

@Strizbiz: I have not purchased Cubasis at all yet, because a DAW without any kind of automation -- not even, say, mod wheel -- is totally useless for me, especially because I primarily do Electronic Music. Also, there still seem to be lots of stability problems (just read the Steinberg forums). And...
