Happy w/Fab-Filter Pro-C so far
Happy w/Fab-Filter Pro-C so far
I bought Fab-Filter Pro-C yesterday & plugged it into a current project. It's pricey at 29.95 USD.
But I got better results w/it than I did with any of the other compressors that go with Auria.
Easier to dial in than Old-Timer, Micro-Warmer, Channel Strip or Master-Strip compressors.
Fab-Filter Pro-C nailed it quickly. I just wish it came w/more suggested presets.
In retrospect, This was probably the only compressor I needed to buy for Auria.
Old-Timer and Micro-Warmer have catchier names. But Pro-C nailed the sound I wanted.

Re: Happy w/Fab-Filter Pro-C so far
I agree I love my Fabfilter plugins and I own them all but I also love PsP plugins and PsP's sound algorithms are different from Fabfilters. The ProC I use all the time but I find if I want to dail in a more transparent compressor than I use the PsP Oltimers and I really love the warmth that the PsP MicroWarmer adds to vocals and acoustic instruments. I even use it in final mastering to give a little edge to the mix. PsP has some really great and famous plugins and I hope they send some more Auria's way. Fabfilter has provided us with all of their plugins other than Twin2, so if we want any more audio mastering/FX plugins they will likely have to come from PsP or another plugin manufacturer. Cheers

I didn't see this in the 1.08 release note, can you confirm this Rim?Dave Magoo wrote:Pro C side chain support in 1.08 on its way also !
Can't wait..
I did a search and I see where you said it should be in 1.08, but I wasn't able to fine a confirmation by you on that.

Yes, all FabFilter plugins will get side chain support (should be 1.08).

Oops, you're right, I forgot to add that to the release notes. Yes, 1.08 has all the new FabFilter plug-in versions which support side chain (Pro-C, Timeless2, and Volcano2).

Sweet! I was hoping so, but I didn't want to get too excited. Thanks Rim.Rim wrote:Oops, you're right, I forgot to add that to the release notes. Yes, 1.08 has all the new FabFilter plug-in versions which support side chain (Pro-C, Timeless2, and Volcano2).

Another great update. I noticed that this update has far less needed to be fixed. My 1.07 is running great and Auria seems to be reaching her final stages to full reliability. Recorded a 6 hr session yesterday with no glitches. Very impressed. Can't wait for 1.08 update to use ProC in side chaining mode. Audiobus working great as well. cheers.

I haven't had a chance since the 1.07 update to test out latency with Auria and JamUp through AudioBus, have you recorded any guitar/bass with that configuration, and if so what are your thoughts?
