Documentation Suggestions

Post by sch » Thu Apr 18, 2013 6:29 pm

Rim,

Here's a few suggestions to help keep things possibly better clarified:

1) For the User Guide, add something to show new material germane to the latest update. E.g., have a small "NEW" logo etc in the margin, to introduce a section that has changed from the last software/manual version.

2) Add the (so-far) three-part supplemental "Closer Look" blog entries as an addendum to the pdf manual. Perhaps a chapter entitled "Closer Look"? Why not showcase this in-depth material where it really should be (in the frickin' manual)? :D

3) Heck, I know we have pdf searching, but personally, I always use an index if one is provided. This is easy to implement and not onerous to update between editions. Please consider adding an index to the manual.

4) For the Auria Audio Interface webpage, adding a MIDI capability datapoint, and whether interfaces directly supported the 30-pin or Lightning connector to the would be valuable.

Cheers and keep up the great work,

Thanks for the suggestions, we'll continue to tweak the User Guide/Interface Page as we go - an index would be great, and we've thought about incorporating the Closer Look info in the manual, though the blog is better at things which have embedded audio or video clips. And as more Lightning-based interfaces hit the market (there's 1 or 2 right now) we'll keep updating the list - MIDI is a good one to include, too.
