Recording live band practice (Input matrix query).

Post by G-master G » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:39 pm

Hello there,
I want to record our band practice by taking the signal from the line-out RCA jacks of our amp/mixer and then just recording to one of the channels in a new project in Auria.
I don’t want Auria to use the mic so I am assuming that I will need to change something on the Input Matrix?
Would I be right in thinking that I have to assign the input to L R on whichever of the channels I use to take the signal from the amp/mixer?
Cheers
Grant

Yes, that's basically right, but you'll need a USB audio interface that's compatible with an iPad. Have a look at our audio interfaces page to see what's compatible:

Thanks Rim

Finally I am starting to get a grip on this thing at a conceptual level.

I have a Scarlett 18i6 that I use as an interface; I didn't mention it in my initial post.

Cheers and thanks for the response.
