No signal Apogee Mic ios7

Post by ttaylorsaxe » Sat Sep 21, 2013 9:06 am

Hi,

I'm on an iPad 4 and (hastily) updated to ios7. Now, it seems, that I cannot get input signal from the Apogee Mic into Auria. The mic is functioning properly, as I can see the color change on the mic, but nothing appears on the faders-not the solo on the track, not the stereo lights on the master. The input matrix looks fine and I don't believe I'm doing anything differently.
Would someone please see if they're experiencing the same?
Thanks,
T

Can't help except to say: Having the same problem here, except with an Apogee Jam - and Auria also not recognizing the iPad mic. FWIW: using iPad2.....

Try switching your Core Audio Mode . There are three different ones Legacy, Standar and MultiRoute. One of these may work with your system. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I'm trying this here on an iPad 4 under iOS7, and it works for me with both a Mic and Jam. Which Core Audio mode are you using in the settings? Do you see the "USB" indicator light up instead of "INT"? Do you have headphones plugged in to the iPad when you're doing this?

Hi,

I was in Standard mode with the headphones plugged in, same as always. I don't recall if INT or USB was showing. Which mode are you using? I unplugged everything and restarted Auria after a complete shut down but never got it to work.

Edit: Ok, I just tried both Standard and Legacy modes. USB was illuminated and the lights changed in the Mic but there was still no signal in Auria.

Edit 2: Also, I was in 48, not 44.1.

OK, I tried all my testing with no headphones plugged in, and at 44.1. I'll report back when I try it with 48K and headphones plugged in.

I just tried it at 48K and with headphones plugged in and it works here. Maybe this is a more basic problem. Some things to check:

- Plug things in one at a time, and wait. First start Auria with nothing plugged in.
- Then plug in your headphones and wait 15 seconds to make sure the iPad has detected them.
- Next, plug in the Jam. Wait for the indicator in Auria to change from INT to USB.
- Now press the REC button on the track you want. You should see signal.

Do this with a new project to make sure it's not some other setting.

I was using Standard mode for these tests, and my record latency was set to 256.

Hi Rim,
I just tried it exactly as you said--New project, 48k, headphones-wait, Apogee Mic-USB lights up, press record-NO signal. I tried it 3 times with new projects and nothing. The mic picks up signal and works with other apps. What else should I try?

I was testing this with Jam. I don't have Mic here today. I'll try to test with Mic asap and will report back.

Thanks,

...and just to make sure we're all on the same page:

- You're using the latest Auria version (1.120). You can check this in Auria's settings page
- You created a new project, and didn't touch any of the settings in the settings page
- No other apps are running in the background (especially other music apps or Audiobus)
- Audiobus Mode is off in Auria's settings
- App Background Audio mode is off in Auria's settings

Yes, exactly as you describe. New project, clean and untouched. Latest version of Auria. The day before ios7, everything had been working perfectly for months. The day after, no fun.
Thanks again for checking.

Right, but what about the other settings I asked about. These are global settings, and are not project-dependant, so I just wanted to make sure about these, since creating a new project wouldn't reset them.

Also, no other apps running in the background (including Audiobus)?

OK, thanks. I'll test this when I get the Mic in here tomorrow. Do you get no audio and no meter on the track, or does the meter work, but no audio?

No meter, no sound. I also tried it with the iPad mic and experienced the same result.
