Yes, it's in the works for a future version.

Hi Guys,

I tried MIDI connection as shown on Youtube but with Audiobus, Thesys and Nave instead of Thor - first MIDI Experiment.
In my setup I cant trigger Thesys out of Auria. Tried NoisePad and DM1... Cant trigger Start.
MIDI Setup in Auria is "send clock" only.

Thx4help

Is there a question in there somewhere?

:D

What is the proper MIDI setup to trigger start/stop from Auria?
Why does it not work? Are there important general settings I missed?

Thx. That helps for basic understanding. But I dont use external MIDI. So I still dont get Control on that Audiobus/Thesys/Nave setup.
Seems too easy on Youtube but... Got Stuck

It applies to MIDI-enabled apps too, not just external MIDI hardware. However, not all MIDI-enabled apps support MTC and/or MIDI Clock properly, if at all. DM1, for example, is notoriously difficult to sync. Thesys can be controlled by Auria (Start/Stop and tempo change) - see pics below:

Oh, and please post a link to the YouTube demo you're trying to follow.

Edited: to add pics, etc.

Here is the link:

In that clip he uses 'Send clock' only. I tried MTC but it didnt work either.
How about the network session - on or off?
Meanwhile I am on Audiobus/Auria/Thesys without Nave...
CoreAudio Mode is set to Standard, Device Linking - Auria link. Is that right?

I'm not sure where in the clip you could see that. He's not using Auria anywhere - he has AudioShare in Audiobus's output slot. AudioShare has no MIDI control of anything. The screenshots above will get Thesys syncing with Auria.

Unless you're using MIDI over wifi, you don't need the Network Session.

I'm not sure how well Auria and Nave will work together, within Audiobus, without glitching. Was it successful for you? Any comments, @Rim?

I think standard mode should be OK but @Rim would know best. Unless you're using two iPads, with Auria on both, then AuriaLink does not apply.

Sorry 4 my confusion... I posted the wrong Youtube link but edited it now.
And Thx Washboy for your help. But I just dont find that mistake in my setup. Nave or not I cant get MIDI control on Thesys with Auria.

I just returned from buying the Air Pad. Maybe that helps on my MIDI Sync trouble ;)

Congratulations on your new iPad, @Peanutcram! :D

Looking at the correct YT vid, if you followed its instructions it should have worked. You don't need to send MTC as well as MIDI clock, as in my pics (but I don't think it does any harm to do so) BUT Auria needs to have 'Send MIDI Start and Stop' set to "Yes". I don't think 'Send MIDI Song Position Pointer' needs to be set in order to use Thesys (but, again, I don't think it does any harm).

Now you're on iOSv7 with your new iPad, you can experiment with IAA, instead if Audiobus.

Good luck!

Do you mean you don't understand it or it doesn't work as expected?

Chapter 11 ("MIDI Sync & Remote") of the Auria User Guide contains some very helpful explanations. If you already know all that stuff then my recommendation would be to start simple and build up. For example, leave Audiobus and Nave out of the picture to begin with and simply work on getting Auria to start and stop Thesys and respond to changes to Auria's tempo setting. Use Thesys's internal sounds.

If you've already done that then please accept my apologies - I'm really unclear what you've tried and what is and isn't working for you.

One step at a time :)

I will let you know if Thesys is either under control or banned from the device ;)
