IPad 3 here, should I upgrade to 7.1?

Hi Everyone,

I have iPad3 16GB and after reading here and in audiobus forum I'm not sure if it is safe to upgrade to iOS7.1.
I'm afraid that Auria will stop working and I've heard that even sunrizer doesn't work.

Any suggestion from someone who tried?

There have been no issues so far with Auria running under 7.1. All the issues reported have been related to existing bugs.

Should I assume that if Auria works regularly with the iPad speakers then upgrading to 7.1 wouldn't start this issue?
Also, did you test on iPad3?

I've tested with all the models, and found no issues, except for the ones already present in 7.x. The speaker issue is not any more likely to present itself in our tests, but it's still a possibility, since it's intermittent. This will get fixed in the next Auria update.

The speedy edit screen alone makes this a worth update.Everything is snappier (not only in auria) now and they (apple)improved overall performance especially for older devices.A fix for sunrizer is also in the works.Go for it...

Correction: I just noticed a new issue in 7.1: Apple seems to have broken support for 96K when using the internal speaker/mic. If you have an 96K projects, you may want to hold off on the 7.1 update.

There is a simple workaround: use an audio interface when loading 96K projects. As long as the interface is plugged in before loading the project, you won't have any issues.

I'll look into fixing this from our end, while posting a bug report with Apple.

I upgraded and everything looks fine.

The OS seems much responsive.
Auria feels the same, which is good.
Thanks to beepstreet I even pasted sounds from sunrizer into my new Auria project.

Need to test IAA and AB.

BTW,
Did you notice the keyboard caps lock looks different?
