Best Auria Plugins for Mixing

Post by Tourniquet » Tue Dec 16, 2014 6:23 pm

Hello all! Brand new to the forum, and pretty much new to Auria and Mixing mastering as well. Been a lurker for a few years. Finally moved from ipod touch to ipad air. So, Auria is now in my Arsenal. :) :) :)

Question: Which plugins are the best or do you use the most at the mixing stage in Auria. I read, see a lot about Mastering, but not as much about which plugins are good for mixing.

Mostly for Rock and Heavy Metal music, occasional Country and Techno. Thanks for any thoughts! I'm excited to be using Auria and all it has to offer.

I use the built-in PSP ones for great effect and little CPU strain. Mostly EQ, for cleaning the bass of most tracks, and the occasional compression for fader control. Good luck, Auria is awesome.

Welcome @tourniquet - for mixing, I'd recommend Pro-Q and, if you'll be mixing vocals, Pro-DS. I also use the PSP channel strips, but when you need to zero in on problem frequencies and sibilance, you'll find these two very helpful. Plus, both are on sale through the end of the year 8)

Wow, I got Pro-Q and Pro-C, and just used them on a few messing around vocals of me and my kids singing "let it go", (ya it's totally awesome ;). And a quick Tera Synth track. Very impressed, Q and C made me sound pretty darn good. I may need to get a few more of these plugins. hmmmm......

Hey, Forbidden! I remember those guys. Def Leppard? Alright.

I think DS is a must have for vocals. I recently mixed a song where I needed multiple instances of sibilance control, which you can't really get from something like VocaLive. 4 or 5 instances of DS saved the day.

Then again, they're aaaaallll good ...
