Auria Pro Midi In/Out Not Working

Post by Cpu Red » Thu Dec 03, 2015 2:10 pm

As the title states, the Midi on Auria Pro is not working. I cannot get Lyra nor Twin 2 to recieve any notes from my external midi keyboard (Samson Carbon 61) nor can I recieve or send notes to apps such as Animoog, Chordion or Magellan. I have made sure all connections are there inside the fx channel AND inside of Aurias settings and also within the apps themselves. Is this a known issue or is there something special i need to do?

For playing Lyra and Twin 2 with an external keyboard or from another (midi sending) app, you need to record-enable the midi track. I think this also applies to playing IAAs loaded inside Auria Pro.

That's correct. Just record enable the track, and it will receive MIDI.

To get my external keyboard to record in Auria I had to select it in the settings/midi section. To get it listed there I needed to put its output as coreMIDI out.

I then selected the correct midi input channel on the track, armed the track and record.

There shouldn't be a need to do that. If you choose "All" from the list, it should work as well (All is the default setting).

I can get the keyboard to trigger any of the synths or sampler using the default channel settings (the signal registers) but nothing gets recorded.

With which instrument? If it's an IAA, then this is an issue with that particular app, not Auria. If it's Lyra or one of the FabFilter synths, let me know.

Sounds like something might be wrong with your sustain pedal. I've never had any issues at all here in the 6 months of testing Lyra. Have you tried using the pedal elsewhere? Perhaps it's stuck?

I'm not sure what to suggest. This has been tested very well here, and we don't have any other reports from other users about the sustain pedal. Can you make a short video showing what you mean exactly? Maybe there's a misunderstanding. If you show us exactly what you're trying to do (from the very start, creating a new project), it will really help us troubleshoot your issue.

Since your original post, we've discovered an issue with aftertouch keyboards. Does your controller output aftertouch? If so, then this might be the issue you're seeing.
