First effort in Auria Pro.
Beats from Beathawk, synths Sunrizer, Twin etc.
Tried a bit of EQ and side chaining.
Appreciate your comments, suggestions etc.
Cheers

Good question - especially phones versus monitors, which has proponents at the extreme on both sides!

My vocal mic is an old AT4033a that's still in pretty good shape, only been knocked over 5 or 6 times.

I have a pair of AKG K240s and a Beyerdynamics DT150 for tracking. The DT150 is good for vocals, closed ear design and very loud. All are run through an old DOD Headphone amp, and these are used when recording live guitar, bass and vocals.

For tracking apps on the iPad, I use a pair of Samson SR950s. Now for mixing and mastering ... I use the Samson phones, bypassing the headphone jack via a Sonic Port VX for most of the mixing process.

Then for mastering I move back into the studio and run the mix through JBL LSR305 monitors, and use them with a Behringer MiniMON Monitor mixer to A/B/C compare the JBLs with some more midrange Alesis M1 actives and a cheap pair of Cyber Acoustic computer speakers. The cheapo speakers run through a Behringer MiniFBQ 9 band EQ, which I can bypass for a "D" option.

Then of course there's the old car studio test, right?

I can get close to doing it all on the SR950s, but in the end I still need to check it on monitors/speakers for mastering. I'm just not good enough yet to bypass the monitors, but I can see with a few years experience, definitely a possibility.

This original song was recorded live at my church last month. We multi-tracked it off of our Midas M32 console into Logic Pro. I then imported everything into Auria for all the mixing and mastering. I'm pretty happy with the results.
