Yes, this is going to be cool. I'm not getting an ipad 4 anytime soon, so I'll make it work on my ipad 2. I already freeze things right away, which I like because it makes you commit to decisions. Audiobus will essentially do the same if you're using external effects. I also heard about pre/post auxes, which means aux sends can be bounced to a track now, also freeing up cpu. This is going to be cool, we made music on much less just 10 years ago!

There's no way I know of to freeze aux sends, because an aux bus can have several tracks feeding audio to it. Anytime you change anything on these tracks, the aux would have to be re-frozen.

If the aux is prefader, then soloing all of the prefader tracks and routing that to an empty track would record only the wet output of the aux send, and yes, it would be permanently written to a track. However, raising and lowering the level of that track would adjust overall wet/dry balance. That will work for what I need. Very excited for the next update. If you go to my site, shutterwax.com, all of the songs except magazine and monkey gone to heaven were mixed in auria. Thanks for writing such an amazing program.

thanx for the update :)
i've to try on ipad2 but i think in a normal workflow effects and plugins are added after the recording...
I think audiobus can help me to record from some important ipad synth and eliminate audio copy and paste...
Now i'm waiting Nanostudio will offer that too :):)

a question... muting a track reduce CPU use ?

AWESOME THANX RIM AND TEAM!!

Question: does this mean we can record audio bus apps into auria via routing?

Just an update: After a discussion with the Audiobus team, we've decided to make iPad 3 a suggested minimum for using Auria with Audiobus. This doesn't mean that Audiobus won't work in Auria if you have an iPad 2, but since the iPad 2 has less RAM available, running Auria along with another memory intensive audio app may push your iPad over the limit. iPad 3 and 4 have twice the amount of memory, and so provide a more stable environment for Audiobus when used with an app as complex as Auria.

Guess I'm not so lucky. Have my sad face on right now, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't what I already suspected. Guess I'll have to just keep recording into MT Daw until I get enough money to go get a new iPad. Boo. Oh well, still love Auria. Picked up some of the new fabfilter plugins over the weekend and they're amazing. At least we know what to expect. Thanks for letting everyone know.

@boone51 I'm addicted to the fabfilter plugins - don't think I will stop 'til I own them all. Makes me smile every time I use them.

@Trueyorky - not to hijack the thread, but I totally agree. I have Pro Q - which is so powerful- and I picked up Pro C. Wow. Pro C is so awesome. The videos over at the FabFilter website are really awesome and do a great job of not only explaining the plugins but the reasoning behind why you would tweak things a certain way for certain audio. They've really helped out a noob like myself. Next up is Pro L for me - unless I have a need for Pro G first. ;-) Times are good.

Just a guess, but I bet that without any effects running it will work. We'll see of course. I'm hoping because an iPad 4 is not in the near future for me. But there's always a way to get things done. I just exported stems from nanostudio into auria yesterday, pasted them in. It took some time, but the 3 hour van ride home from a gig afforded time. All told, probably took 15 minutes total, not too bad. We shall see!

In our testing, an iPad 2 worked fine if you create a new project with no effects, and the other audio app wasn't too memory hungry. It really depends on the app.

Rim does this audiobus integration mean we can record the other apps as well?

also, yesterday i bought audiobus and auria is not listed in it. I suppose when 1.6 goes live
this will change?

thanx
