Can time stretch be used on a whole song to speed it up?
Can time stretch be used on a whole song to speed it up?
...and if so, how would you do it? I need to speed up a recording a little to get a faster tempo and shorter overall playing time. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Re: Can time stretch be used on a whole song to speed it up?
It absolutely will- you just perform the time stretch move with two fingers
and make the track shorter. If you're willing to wait quite awhile the higher
quality renderings are really...well...high quality. Time stretch is a premier
feature of Auria the way I use it- the groove and feel of a song can change
so much just a little faster or slower to be able to preview different tempos
is way cool

Got it thanks! So how would I do this for a full song?
Re: Can time stretch be used on a whole song to speed it up?
I have only used it on rough mix bounce tracks I think I tried once and it didn't
seem to work trying to do multiple tracks- so I suppose one would have to make sure
all your tracks were exactly the same length set your cursor to the shortened spot
set the snap menu to cursor and do them one at a time. That might take awhile
especially if its a long song. You might want to rough mix to a new track and use
the faster preview renderings to make sure you're speeding it up into the right
speed zone then finalize the stretches. Undo button does undo them.

If you use mixdown, then import the mixdown to a new track, you can stretch this new track (using the stretch handle).

Of course - thanks Rim!
Mixing down and then importing will "glue" the piece together as one file, then its "stretch away" on the new track/file.
This is what I was missing.
Thanks - will try that tonight!
