Swirly Cymbals on M4A Mixdown
Hi, I'm new to recording, and on a test run with a Tascam 16x08 going into an iPad Pro running Auria Pro I'm getting swirly artifacts in the cymbals, but I only hear it when I mixcown to an m4a file. Could I have phase issues? Or did I record at too low of a setting? I did this on the 44100 setting. Mics - two guitars each with sm57, sure beta 52a on kick drum, sm57 on snare, and one audio technica 2020 as an overhead. Recorded live, there's a decent amount of mic bleed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3gtwc72njmi8 ... 3.m4a?dl=0

That kind of artefact is a characteristic of mp3 and AAC compression. Try doing a mixdown to a lossless format like WAV instead.
