Greetings to all,
I just joined your group. This is my first communication (not so active when it comes to blogs)
Last week I purchased a new digital recorder, Zoom H6. Well, I have Sony pcm D-1 and a Marantz.
Zoom H6 will be so helpful in recording my orchestra etc. I tested it with the XY mic. I was so disappointed. I recorded myself playing the violin. To be able to clearly hear the violin (from about three feet away) I had to set the level to 9.
Comparing with the Sony D1, I set the volume up to 4.
Of course the Zoom H6 has great qualities but it's a different issue.
Any help?
Zoom H6 low recording level
Re: Zoom H6 low recording level
Were you recording on the H6 only or were you recording in Auria, using the H6 as a USB audio interface?

Re: Zoom H6 low recording level
Azzam,
Were you ever able able to get the low volume issue resolved? I play classical guitar and have had the same experience.
I used to record very successfully with my Sony PCM-D50 at levels 4-6 and now I must record at level 10 on my Zoom H6 from 3-5 feet away to get even a moderate record level.
I can't get any help or advice from Zoom.
Thanks,
Bill
