tascam us16x08
Has anyone been able to discover whether the Tascam US 16x08 is viable? I know it's rather new. Just got an ipad air 2 and Auria, now trying to come up with a suitable interface. I was hoping for a single unit solution. I'm trying to record 8 mics and four line inputs simultaneously. The Focusrite 18i20 and the Presonus 1818 only have eight inputs on the unit. The Tascam has enough inputs but other items of that make (if I'm reading this forum right) seem to have volume/monitoring issues. I'm thinking if Tascam is still not viable, the most affordable option would be the Behringer FCA1616 and ADA8000 (or ADA8200) combo. Any thoughts?
Re: tascam us16x08
I'm interested in anybody's experience with the Tascam US 16x08 as well? The Tascam site only states compatibility with iOS 7. Wondering if it will work with iOS 8, and will it need the USB hub and CCK?
Re: tascam us16x08
Okay, so I got a response from Tascam support regarding the us16x08:
"That unit is a class compliant device, so it should work well under iOS8.
Thank you for your interest in Teac/Tascam products. If you need further assistance feel free to call us at 323-727-7617 option #3 or e-mail us at Custser@teac.com"
For what it's worth.

Yeah. Thanks for checking, ggarrison. I looked up the user manual online for the 16x08 and it said that that yes, it was class compliant, and that it worked with iPad 4 and newer. Given the Tascam commentary in this forum, I opted to go with the FCA1616/ADA8200 combo. We'll see how it goes. I'll be able to test it for the first time next week.
Re: tascam us16x08
So, the 16x08 recognizes the ipad; the ipad recognizes the 16x08. The unit powers my mics. YouTube plays through the unit to my speakers. But nothing I put into the units - mics, guitar, drum machine - will show up in Auria or play through to the speakers. Help.

@local12
the way to check if Auria is seeing your audio interface is in the input Matrix and Output Matrix. You will have to select which input your mic is connected to. You will see the tiny vu meter in the input meter showing you that you indeed have input from your audio device. You select the input that you want for each track. Sometimes when first powering up a multi input and output device in Auria the Input Matrix will show ecach track with a different input assigned to it. You simply have to go through each track and correct the input to the ones your actually using. Unfortunately this does not always get saved with the project especially if you disconnect your audio interface and then reconnect it the input matrix can get jumbled up again. So check these out and see what happens. Cheers
