Apogee Jam crashes Auria
Apogee Jam crashes Auria
I tried everything I imagine: deleting and reinstalling Auria 1.1, 44.1 / 48 / 96 kHz, connecting before or after starting Auria
Whenever I connect the Apogee Jam Auria crashes after a few seconds. The light on the AJam starts flashing green 1 times, turns blue and then the App crashes.
Ipad 3, 64 GB, iOS 6.13, Auria LE (upgraded to full) 1.1
Mmpf

Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
tried this on my ipad 4 and everything seems ok with jam and 1.1
might be an ipad 3 issue?

Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
Are you plugging your headphones in before you plug in Jam? This is a requirement to get around the coreAudio headphone bug.

Also, do you get a screen asking you to fill out a crash report the next time you start Auria? If so, please put your name in the crash report and let me know you've done it so I can check the logs.

Hi Rim
Yes, first headphones then Jam.
I sended you another two crash reports.
Just to mention, the Apogee Jam works still fine in JamUp, Garageband, etc

Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
I have the same issue with ipad mini and apogee jam. Rim could not recreate the issue and suggested trying again after the recent Auria update, unfortunately the issue persists. But for me it is only at 48000. At 44.1 works fine. Are you having this issue at any rate?
Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
Yes, I tried both 44.1 and 48 k.
Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
I just re-double-cluster-checked the problem another times:
closed ALL apps
cold restart the iPad (on/off plus home button)
start Auria, new project 44.1 kHz, add 1 mono track
plugin headphones and wait some time
plugin Apogee Jam
... crash
Seems that it depends on the iPad 3
too sad

Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
I've confirmed that this is caused by a CoreAudio MultiRoute bug. Apple still has some bugs to work out in the CoreAudio code. In the mean time, I've added an option in 1.11 to disable MultiRoute, so this will help solve the issues in this thread.
In the mean time, to avoid this problem, make sure you follow these steps exactly (don't skip any steps)
1. Unplug your headphones from the iPad.
2. Close Auria.
3. Close all other apps by double tapping on the home button, and closing everything you see (including Auria).
4. Open Auria.
5. Wait for it to finish loading the project.
6. Plug in the Jam.
7. Wait until you see the USB indicator above. Don't do anything else until you see this.
8. Plug your headphones into the iPad.
9. Do not unplug the headphones once they're plugged in. Doing so may cause a CoreAudio crash.
Remember to wait in between each step - that's very important.
Auria may appear to freeze for a bit in after plugging in headphones, but it will go back to normal. This is CoreAudio setting up the audio system.

No chance ...
Auria crashes nevertheless whenever I plug in the Jam

Re: Apogee Jam crashes Auria
In any case you'll be able to solve this with 1.11 and the new CoreAudio mode switch.
